Absolutely heartbreaking! Love Spent is Madonna's saddest Country Artwork. It tells of a Madonna tale so sad that neither Madonna nor Guy could work it out in the end. The Material Girl and the Material Boy had a good thing going until financial hardship put an end to their marriage. It's almost a Shakespearian tragedy -Love Spent-file this sad Ciccone ballad right next to Devil Wouldn't Recognize You, Hung Up, Nothing Fails, Nobody's Perfect, To Have and Not to Hold and Take a Bow and the picture of sadness becomes so clear-Love Spent is about a love and friendship too beautiful and desperate to last. One of the saddest Madonna songs ever! I don't think she'll ever get over Guy! I do think Madonna still has a place in her heart for him! (Cry!), (Sob!)
